What are the best scenic viewpoints around Haputale in the hill country?

Lipton Seat is the absolute must visit viewpoint near Haputale offering the most spectacular panoramic vista in the entire Sri Lankan hill country. Sir Thomas Lipton supposedly sat at this exact spot to survey his vast tea empire stretching across the surrounding mountains. On a clear morning you can see all the way to the south coast ocean. The best time to visit is before nine in the morning before the clouds roll in. A tuk tuk from Haputale costs around two thousand rupees return including waiting time.
Dambatenne Tea Factory just below Lipton Seat offers excellent guided tours showing the full Ceylon tea production process. The factory was built by Thomas Lipton himself in 1890 and still operates daily. Combine the factory tour with the Lipton Seat visit as the walking trail to the summit begins right behind the factory. The gorgeous three kilometer uphill walk through manicured tea bushes takes about forty five minutes at a gentle pace.

People outside stations offer to "help" buy tickets but charge large markups. They may buy cheap third-class tickets and sell as more expensive classes.
