The absolute best time to climb Sri Pada Adams Peak is during the official pilgrimage season, which runs from the Unduvap Poya in December until the Vesak Poya in May. During these months, the weather is consistently dry, the treacherous stairs are safe, and the entire pathway to the summit is brilliantly illuminated by thousands of lights. If you climb outside of this season, you will face severe monsoon rains, aggressive leeches, zero path lighting, and highly dangerous, slippery conditions.
