We want to see the most wildlife. Should we use the Deniyaya or Kudawa entrance.

The Kudawa entrance located near Kalawana is universally considered the absolute premier gateway for highly serious wildlife spotting. It offers immediate deep access into the incredibly rich primary rainforest zone.

Because Kudawa is the main official research hub it boasts the most highly trained expert trackers and perfectly maintained trails specifically designed to help tourists spot the incredibly rare endemic mixed species bird flocks.

The Deniyaya entrance located further south is significantly quieter and heavily features beautiful cascading waterfalls but the jungle there is largely secondary growth meaning your chances of spotting rare endemic wildlife drop considerably.
