Wilpattu is incredibly peaceful and completely lacks the massive jeep crowds found in Yala. It is highly recommended for a truly authentic quiet wilderness experience where you can enjoy nature.

Yala officially has a significantly higher leopard density making sightings much easier and more frequent but you will absolutely definitely share the dirt road with dozens of other tourist vehicles kicking up dust.
