Yes, you must hire a Department of Wildlife Conservation tracker at the park entrance. It was a former high-security zone that nature has beautifully reclaimed. Leopards and sloth bears are present but extremely elusive due to the thick scrub. The real draw is the massive flocks of migratory ducks, wild horses, and the rugged, untouched sand dunes.

The offroading there is serious business. The sand gets incredibly deep near the lagoon edges, so definitely air down your tires before you enter the park and bring a recovery strap.
