We finish A-Bay 28 Aug. Keep reading Block 1 annual close 1 Sep-15 Oct. Is late August a good leopard window or a muddy waste of USD 150?

Block 1 typically closes about 1 September to 15 October for recovery, confirm each year with DWC or your jeep. Late August it is usually still open. Sightings mid-year are more "moderate" than Feb-March, plants and water more spread out. Crowds thinner than winter. If leopards are the only goal, morning plus evening or a full day helps. Block 5 and Lunugamvehera stay in play if Block 1 is shut. Udawalawe is the easier elephant day if time is tight.

We did a 29 Aug morning from Tissa on the way west. No leopard, lots of elephants and crocs. Not a waste, not a BBC documentary.
