Not looking for Kandy toddler parks (already read that). Need shade, a swim that will not eat us, and not 7 hours in a van every day. Is Pasikudah the boring-correct answer?

August family cheat-code is east-coast shallow bays. Pasikudah is the poster child, Nilaveli is longer and prettier. Skip SW ocean swims. Cultural triangle in the morning, nap, pool. Perahera is late, loud, crowded - magical for a 10-year-old, miserable for a 2-year-old after 9pm. Two bases max. Kids under 12 often cheaper on park/CCF tickets, under 6 often free at parks. Nets plus dengue discipline.

We did Habarana (Sigiriya + safari) and Pasikudah. Private driver, car seat we brought. Hotel breakfast, rice and curry lunch, early dinner. Boring-correct is correct.
