Look into Dreamsea or Camp Poe. They are massive surf camps built around the social party lifestyle. They do not have curfews, they have 24-hour security to let you in after Lamana or Trax close at 3 AM, and the surf instructors there will literally drag you out of bed for dawn patrol.

Avoid local family homestays if you plan to come back drunk at 4 AM. It is very disrespectful to them.

Kabalana itself has some nice beachfront hotels but they get pricey. Stick to the surf camps for budget.

Camp Poe has a legendary vibe. You will meet tons of other solo surfers there.

Lush is also a great spot right on the main strip for partygoers.

Are there any quiet spots if I just want to surf and sleep

Yes, book anything inland. Even 5 minutes off the main Galle road is perfectly silent.
