The absolute best time to surf in Hiriketiya is from December to April. During these dry season months, the ocean is incredibly clean and the waves are highly consistent for all skill levels.

However, if you are an absolute beginner, you can actually surf here year round. Because it is a deep horseshoe bay, it is heavily protected from the rough monsoon winds that ruin other beaches from May to October.
