I know the pilgrimage season is over. Is it still possible to hike to the top and is it dangerous because of the rain.

You can climb in June, but it is a very different experience. The shops and lights along the path are all closed, so you must carry your own food, water, and a very strong torch. The weather can be extremely windy and wet with thick mist making the stairs slippery. It is very solitary and atmospheric, but you might not get the sunrise view due to cloud cover. Be prepared for leeches on the lower sections.
