The same guy who would not cross the tape at 8.40 and then quoted a number I will not type is now sitting on a plastic chair two metres from us, typing "Sunday Randoli van, tonight price, last one." We do need a Sunday car. We do not need him. Is this how Kandy actually books or is this the 9.13 surge talking.

Block, or at least do not pay a deposit on these steps. A Sunday van does not sell out like a Queen's corridor chair. What you want is a driver who already knows the 14 roadblocks and will meet you off Dalada (Gopallawa / railway). The man who would not cross the tape and then invented a price is not that driver. Hotel desk in the morning.

We got three "last van" texts between the casket and the hotel. Morning quote from the guesthouse was calmer. No deposit via a random WhatsApp tonight.

If you already like today's pre-booked driver, lock a time and a Gopallawa pin with him. That is a different conversation. Do not invent a USD/LKR "tonight price."
