Earlier it felt like showers. Foreca's Kandy page now says 9pm-11pm cloudy, 0 mm, chance under 10 percent, updated 21.27. We are one kilometre from the hotel under an eave. Walk, or is this the same Met that promised spells of showers this morning.

Foreca's 21:27 update is cloudy / <10% / 0 mm through 11pm, ~23-24°C. The morning Met bulletin still said spells of showers in Kandy today - that can already have happened. If you are dry under an eave one kilometre out, walk. Carry the jacket you already have. Do not wait for a perfect radar.
August hill nights do this - a spit, then nothing. The eave is not a plan. Inland streets, not the lake wall.
Warm-weather advisory for Saturday is east / north, not Kandy night. Do not plan Saturday 6.28 around tonight's <10%.
Scam Watch: kandy
TukTuk or tour drivers take you to "gem museums" or "government-certified" gem shops. They receive huge commissions (up to 40%) on anything you buy. Prices are inflated 3-10x the actual value.
Men approach tourists near Temple of the Tooth offering to be guides. After the tour, they demand large "donations" or guide fees (5000-10000 LKR).
