The Rose Quartz Mountain, located in the Namal Uyana forest reserve, is about a 40 minute drive south of Dambulla. You can easily hire a tuk tuk to take you there and wait while you explore.

The hike to the mountain takes roughly 30 minutes through a beautiful, deeply shaded ironwood forest. The trail is well maintained and moderately easy, making it accessible for families.

The reserve usually opens from 7 AM to 5 PM. It is highly recommended to go early in the morning before the exposed quartz rock face heats up intensely under the midday sun.
