Visiting the Dambatenne Tea Factory from Bandarawela is very easy. You can catch a local public bus heading towards Haputale, and from there take another short bus directly to the factory gates.

The factory tour is highly authentic and educational, showing you the exact machinery installed by Sir Thomas Lipton himself over a century ago.

If you want a more comfortable journey, hiring a private tuk tuk from Bandarawela for the half day trip will cost around 3000 to 4000 LKR and allows you to stop for photos in the tea fields.
