The Handunugoda Tea Estate is incredibly easy to visit from Ahangama. You can hire a tuk tuk for a short 15 minute drive inland through beautiful lush villages.
The tour usually ends with a wonderful complimentary tea tasting session on the veranda overlooking the estate, and there is no pressure to buy anything from their shop.
They are famous globally for their Virgin White Tea, which is plucked completely untouched by human hands to preserve its delicate antioxidants. The guided tour explains this unique process perfectly.
