I want to see the famous Bawa design near Dambulla. Does the building still look impressive when it is rainy or cloudy.

Many photographers actually prefer Kandalama in the mist. Geoffrey Bawa designed the hotel to be absorbed by the jungle. On rainy days, the vines covering the hotel turn a deep emerald and the infinity pool blends perfectly with the reservoir. It feels like a prehistoric ruins site hidden in the clouds. It is one of the most iconic examples of Tropical Modernism.

Be careful with your gear as the humidity is high. However, the wildlife like macaques and exotic birds are much more active around the corridors during the light rains.
