For June trick training Kappalady is the answer flat water shoulder deep side onshore Wind by mid June is steady 18 to 22 knots from 1030 to 1700 Bring your 9 m for sure but rent a 12 m locally for lighter wind days (70 USD per day at De Silva Wind Resort) Vella Island is for downwinders not stationary trick sessions If wind drops dolphin tour from Alankuda in the morning is the standard backup
Margarita Lagoon Resort and Kitesurfing Lanka are the established schools both rent and store gear safely
Avoid Sunday afternoons local fishing boats use the lagoon and right of way disputes happen
