Morning is always better on the south coast. By 11 AM, the onshore wind kicks in and chops out the waves. However, surfing heavy reef breaks on 3 hours of sleep is a terrible idea. You need sharp reflexes. Sleep in, or stick to the forgiving sandy beach break at Kabalana Beach instead.

I will stick to the sand break if I am hungover. Thanks.

The offshore wind is magical at 6 AM though. The waves are like glass.

I tried dawn patrol after Lamana. Paddled out, felt dizzy, and paddled back in. Drink lots of king coconut water.
