Maligawa table: Grand Randoli Thursday 27 6:43 PM, Diya Kapeema Thursday 27 1:28 AM, Day Perahera Friday 28 2:18 PM. 1.28 AM is before 6.43 PM on a normal calendar. Getambe-on-the-28th-locals-only was the other thread. We are trying to read the clock at 10.20 so we do not book the wrong night. Is water-cutting the small hours after Thursday's Grand, or literally 1.28 on Thursday morning.

Sri Dalada Maligawa's published 2026 table lists Diya Kapeema (water cutting) 27 August 01:28 AM and Final Randoli 27 August 18:43. On a civil clock that puts 01:28 before 18:43 on the same date, which is not the usual water-cutting-follows-the-last-Randoli-in-the-small-hours sequence. Treat the 01:28 as the small hours attached to that festival night until the Maligawa says otherwise - I will not swear whether they mean 27 Aug 01:28 or after-midnight into Friday 28. Do not invent a Getambe spectator gazette here; access was the other thread.

If you are not staying through Thursday, this is not tonight's problem. Sleep. If you are booking the week, book the Grand Randoli night of the 27th and ask the host in the morning which clock they use for 1.28.
