Ada Derana: inspectors reporting sick today over an airport-health-office transfer, and they already walked off dengue control yesterday. Hotel courtyard has a pretty pot of water. August already has thousands of new cases. Do we cancel the kid's park tomorrow or is a token strike just office politics we should ignore.

A token "report sick" day is not a hospital strike. Fogging / premises checks are the bit they paused from yesterday. That does not make Kandy magically worse tonight. It does mean you empty the pretty pot, sleep under a net if you have one, and do not skip repellent because "we are in the hills." August NDCU figure as of yesterday: 7,777 new cases this month; homepage tonight said over 8,000 in 20 days.
CMB health desk is the reason they are angry (Katunayake MOH transfer). Your yellow-fever / arrival stamp process is not announced as closed. If a queue looks unmanned, ask an airline staffer, do not invent a shutdown.
