I want to bring my surfboard or musical instrument. How easy is it on flights, trains, and buses?

Domestic flights have size and weight limits — check with the airline. Trains have limited space; hard cases are better than soft bags. Buses are trickier for large items. Many surfers ship boards or buy locally. For instruments, hard cases and carrying them as hand luggage on flights is safest. Some guesthouses cater to surfers or musicians and can advise on local transport. It's doable but requires planning and sometimes extra fees or coordination.
I saw surfers with boards on trains but it looked awkward. Many just rent boards locally instead of traveling with them.
