Unawatuna with 4 year old - which hotels have calm beach or pool?
Kid loves water but I'm worried about waves. Any hotels where the beach is protected or they have good shallow pool? First family trip here.

Some places near the lagoon side have calmer water for little ones. Or hotels with proper kiddie pools. The main Unawatuna beach can have waves sometimes. My guests with small kids usually pick places with good pools and just do short beach visits when it's calm. Ask when booking if they have shallow area or protected beach.
Yeah the lagoon part is better for kids. Main beach is hit or miss with currents. Pools are safer bet honestly.

Restaurants without visible prices. Bill arrives with inflated charges (500 LKR coconut becomes 1500 LKR). "Service charges" added without disclosure.
