I am ready to hit the lagoons. Are the kite schools throwing overnight camping parties on Vella Island yet or is late April too early.

The wind is just starting to pick up! We are hosting the first pre-season overnight trip to Vella Island this weekend. It will be a smaller crowd with a bonfire and acoustic sets rather than a massive DJ party, but the conditions are looking great for a 12m kite.

The big official season opener parties kick off in mid May. Right now is perfect if you want uncrowded water during the day and chill vibes at night.

I went last year in early May and it was insane. If you go now, definitely bring your own mosquito repellent and a good windbreaker for the night.
