I want to do a wellness yoga retreat in Ahangama, but I also want to surf during the day. Do retreats there have strict curfews or schedules.

In Ahangama, almost all "retreats" are actually Surf-and-Yoga hybrid camps. Places like Sunshine Stories or The Kip cater exactly to this lifestyle. They usually have a structured Vinyasa class at 7 AM and a Yin class at 5 PM, but the entire middle of the day is completely free for you to surf Kabalana or explore. They are very relaxed compared to traditional Ayurvedic ashrams.

Do they serve alcohol at these hybrid camps.

Yes, most of the Ahangama surf camps have a bar and actively encourage going to the local beach parties at night.

They also usually have racks for your boards right next to the yoga shala.

Look for places that explicitly advertise "Surf Camp" rather than "Ayurvedic Retreat".
