Are there sharks while diving in Sri Lanka.
Will I encounter dangerous great white sharks on the coral reefs.

You absolutely do not need to worry about aggressive great white sharks. They are completely non existent in the warm tropical waters surrounding Sri Lanka. The diving environment is incredibly safe regarding marine predators.
You will very likely see Blacktip Reef Sharks especially if you dive near Pigeon Island in Trincomalee. These are incredibly beautiful small and entirely harmless to humans. They are very skittish and will quickly swim away if you blow bubbles near them.
If you are incredibly lucky diving deep wrecks you might spot massive docile Whale Sharks during their migration season. They are gentle filter feeders completely harmless to divers and considered an ultimate bucket list sighting.
