Hire a local surf tuk tuk from Arugam Bay. They have roof racks for your boards and know exactly how to navigate the deep sand tracks. It is about a 25 minute bumpy ride south.

Also be aware that the road to Peanut Farm passes right through wild elephant territory. If you stay for the sunset surf, your tuk tuk driver will need to be extremely cautious driving back in the dark.

Do not take a rented scooter unless you are very experienced riding in deep, soft sand. I saw three tourists drop their bikes and snap their rental boards last season trying to make it through.
