Do we need to transport boards from our hotel or are there rental shacks right on the sand.

Yes, there are several small, friendly wooden shacks located directly on the sand at the main Ahangama breaks where you can easily rent soft foam boards or hardboards by the hour.

This is incredibly convenient, but be aware that their selection of high performance shortboards might be very limited compared to the dedicated, larger surf shops located inland.
