I want to stay 2-3 months. What's the most practical visa or extension route right now?

Tourist visa extensions at the immigration office in Colombo remain the most straightforward path for most remote workers. Some people do multiple extensions or combine with short visa runs. Requirements can change, so checking with recent long-stay visitors or official sources is important. Many nomads base in one or two locations (Galle/Ahangama or Ella) and handle extensions from there. The process involves paperwork and patience but is generally manageable. Some guesthouses and co-working spaces have experience helping with the current process.
Extensions are still the main route. Some long-stay friendly places can guide you based on recent guests' experience.
