Do I need a local bank account for the Digital Nomad Visa?

The 2026 Digital Nomad Visa requirements allow you to prove your monthly income of two thousand dollars using bank statements from your home country. You do not need a local bank account for the application. However, once approved, you are permitted to open a personal account here to help with your daily living expenses on the island.
