Extending stay as a digital nomad - any special considerations or processes?
I might want to stay 2-3 months. What's the best way to handle visa/extensions for longer stays?

Tourist visa extensions are possible up to 6 months total at the immigration office in Colombo. For longer stays, some people do visa runs or look into other visa categories (though options for digital nomads are limited). You'll need to show proof of funds/accommodation and may need to leave and re-enter. Many long-stay visitors base themselves in one place (like Ahangama or Galle) and handle the extension process with help from their guesthouse or a local agent. Start the process well before your current permission expires.
Some guesthouses that cater to long-stay guests can help with the paperwork or recommend reliable agents. It's doable but plan for a bit of bureaucracy and possible multiple visits to Colombo.
