Free ETA still needs eta.gov.lk this morning - no new overnight visa post

This morning I checked immigration and the ETA page because the wanted notice spooked us. Partner thinks free for 40 countries means we can just land. I think we still apply on eta.gov.lk even if the fee is waived. No new overnight rule on what I can see. Still apply, or did something move while we slept.

From 25 May 2026, 40 nationalities get a free 30-day tourist ETA - application still required at eta.gov.lk before arrival. Maldives, Seychelles, Singapore also free via ETA, Maldives 90 days. Fees paid before 25 May are non-refundable. No new overnight alert on this crawl. Immigration homepage timed out. Do not invent a Saturday circular. The 4:50 AM notice is expired visas plus a manhunt, not a waiver change.

We applied, printed the PDF, walked through. The it-is-free-so-I-did-not-apply person was the problem at the desk.
