While getting a visa on arrival at the Colombo airport is possible, the queue can sometimes be incredibly long, especially if multiple large flights land at the exact same time.

It is highly recommended to apply for the ETA online before you fly. It is slightly cheaper, and walking straight to immigration after a tiring flight is much faster than waiting in the payment line.
