Is Casuarina Beach in Jaffna suitable for a family swim?

We are visiting Karainagar next week. Is the water shallow enough for children and are there basic facilities like changing rooms available.

Casuarina Beach is perfect for families because the water is incredibly shallow and calm for hundreds of meters out. There are basic changing rooms and toilets available for a small fee. It can get very crowded on weekends with locals, so try visiting on a weekday morning for a more peaceful experience. Wear plenty of sunblock as there is very little natural shade on the sand.
