Galle Face Green is a fantastic open space where locals fly kites, but it is not a manicured park. The grass can sometimes be patchy, and it gets incredibly busy in the evenings with street food vendors and crowds.

While it is a fun cultural experience to walk around, Viharamahadevi Park is vastly cleaner and significantly safer for a toddler to actually run around on the grass or play on dedicated playground equipment.
