Is the free tourist ETA for the UK and Europe active this April?

I read about a proposal to expand free entry to 40 countries. Does this include travelers from the UK and most of Europe starting now.

The expansion to 40 nations was approved earlier this month. It includes the UK, US, Australia, and many EU states like the Czech Republic. You still need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization online, but the standard processing fee is waived. This policy is set to run until at least October 2026 to boost our summer arrival numbers.

Make sure to use the official gov.lk site. Some third party agencies still try to charge a service fee even when the government fee is zero.
