I heard rumors about free entry for more countries starting this April. Does this include the UK and most European nations.

The government is in the final stages of expanding the free ETA scheme from seven to forty countries. This list includes the UK, US, Australia, and many EU states. The goal is to hit three million arrivals by 2027. Currently, you should still check the official gov.lk immigration portal for the formal activation date for your specific passport.

Be careful with third party visa sites. Only the official portal will reflect the zero fee once the cabinet approval is fully implemented for the summer season.
