Is the free tourist visa expansion for 39 countries active yet?

I read that Sri Lanka is offering free visas for the US, UK, and European nations this year. Do I still need to apply online.

The proposal for free tourist visas for 39 countries is currently being implemented. It includes the US, UK, Australia, and most of Europe. You still must apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) via the official gov.lk portal, but the standard fee will be waived. This is intended to reach our target of three million arrivals by the end of 2026.

Always use the official eta.gov.lk site. Third party sites might still try to charge you a service fee even if the government fee is zero.
