Heading to Trincomalee next week. Is it easy to book a sunrise yoga session in Nilaveli before taking the early boat to Pigeon Island to see reef sharks. Also, where are the best beach bars nearby for the evening.

Absolutely. Several beachfront resorts in Nilaveli offer drop in sunrise yoga classes around 6:30 AM. You can finish your flow and catch an 8:30 AM boat to Pigeon Island. Going early is the best way to see the Blacktip Reef Sharks before the crowds arrive. For the evening party scene, you will want to take a short tuk tuk ride down to Uppuveli beach, where places like Fernandos Bar host the best beachfront nightlife.

Pigeon Island gets incredibly crowded by 10 AM. Doing your yoga early and getting on the first boat is the smartest way to do it.

Make sure your sunscreen is certified reef safe before you jump in the water at Pigeon Island! The coral is very fragile.

The reef sharks are totally harmless but seeing them swim around your legs right after a calming yoga session is an amazing rush.
