Paid USD 89 on a .com then found eta.gov.lk is free??
Applied last night, charged USD 89, got a PDF that looks official. Then my cousin sent eta.gov.lk and it is free for Australians. Can I get a refund? Will immigration accept their PDF? Flight 3 September.

Only official site is eta.gov.lk. Some third-party sites do submit a real application and mail you a real approval - they just keep a fat service fee. Check status on the official portal with the reference number. If it is approved you can enter. If it is not, apply yourself for free.
Same thing happened to a guy in our hostel. His PDF was real. He ate the USD 89 and moved on. Do not apply twice on two sites with the same passport if one already went through.
Red flags: .com/.org that is not .gov.lk, "fast track 1 hour", USD 80-150 when your nationality is on the free list.
Checking the reference on eta.gov.lk now. If it is real I will just eat the 89.
