Pixel was in my hip pocket. Crowd surged when the first elephant came. Pocket is empty. Hotel Wi-Fi is the only reason I can type this. Is there an actual tourist-police desk still staffed at 8.30 on a Perahera night or do we file in the morning and kiss the phone.

First: hotel desk + the nearest uniform, tonight. Tourist Police landline has been 011-242 1052 / 011-238 2209 in older notices - confirm on police.lk, do not treat a blog number as gospel. Emergency is still 119. IMEI + Find My Device from a laptop now, not after you sleep. Kandy police and the Perahera tourist-assistance points are the reason they briefed "tourist assistance" in the traffic plan.

Friend lost a phone on the 2nd Kumbal. Filed at the station near the lake the same night, got a copy for insurance. Phone never came back. Cancel cards from the hotel PC.

Do not wander the emptied streets flashing a second phone looking for yours. That is how a bad night becomes two.

Hotel desk first, then the nearest uniform. Cancelling cards from the lobby PC.
