I plan to take a lot of photos with a proper camera. Do I need special permits for Sigiriya, temples, or wildlife parks?

For most ancient sites (Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura) you can take photos with a normal camera for personal use with your entry ticket. Drones are strictly forbidden everywhere without special government permission. In national parks, photography is allowed from jeeps but flash is discouraged near animals. Tripods sometimes require extra permission at popular sites. Always check with your guide or at the entrance.

No drone, got it. Tripod might be useful at Sigiriya for sunrise - will check on site.
