Lake-side room. We came back early with the kid. Roller doors down. Hotel restaurant "waiting for the vegetable van." Reception says they cannot receive a delivery until the cones move. Is this a two-hour problem or an all-night one. We have one banana.

On a Kumbal night I have seen the vegetable van at 9.30 and at 11. We run a leftover rice if we are any good. Ask for that, loudly, politely. If they are truly empty, a staff member can sometimes walk out the back to a still-open shop on the bypass and walk in with packets. Pay that errand.

This is why the boring advice was "eat at 4." Too late. Banana + errand.
