The road from Hatton to Dalhousie wraps around the Castlereagh reservoir. It is incredibly winding, entirely unlit, and prone to heavy fog. While it is paved, driving a tuk-tuk on it at 1 AM if you are inexperienced is dangerous due to steep drop-offs and stray dogs sleeping on the warm asphalt. Hire a local driver from Hatton instead.

Also, you will be exhausted after climbing 5000 stairs. You do not want to be driving a tuk tuk back down that mountain on zero sleep.

During the pilgrimage season (Dec-May), the road is jammed with massive buses playing chicken on the corners. Do not drive it.
