Absolutely NOT safe to walk the beach at 3 AM. The beach is unlit, and the stray dog packs become highly territorial at night. They will aggressively bark and occasionally nip at people walking alone in the dark. Always pay 300-500 LKR for a tuk-tuk waiting outside the club.

The parties themselves inside venues like Lamana are very safe, just plan your ride home.

Even walking on the main Galle road is risky because of speeding night buses. Take a tuktuk.
