My credit card keeps getting rejected on the official visa site. What should I do.

This is an incredibly common issue with the government payment gateway. It frequently rejects certain international cards. The best solution is to simply try a different card completely ideally a Visa instead of a Mastercard or vice versa.

Also ensure you are using a desktop computer rather than a mobile phone browser as the site is notoriously glitchy on mobile. If it repeatedly fails you can legitimately get a visa on arrival at the Colombo airport but you will have to wait in line.
