We rented a tuk tuk. Is it legal to strap a 9 foot surfboard to the roof rack, and will it cause problems when we park at the beach clubs.

Legally, overhang cannot exceed 1 meter. A 9-foot board pushes the limit, so tie a red flag to the back. When parking outside clubs, always remove the board and put it inside the cloakroom; it will get stolen off the roof at night.

Most clubs in Ahangama have a secure surfboard rack inside for this exact reason.

I drove with a longboard. You have to take turns much slower because the wind catches the nose of the board.
