What are the unwritten rules for catching waves at Main Point. The localism seems intense and I do not want to get yelled at.

Main Point is highly competitive. The rules: 1. Sit on the shoulder, not the peak, on your first few days. 2. Give away the first set waves to the recognized locals. 3. NEVER drop in. If you snake a local, they will send you to the beach. 4. Be polite, smile, and say hello. Respect earns you waves here faster than aggressive paddling.

If you mess up, apologize immediately and paddle wide.

Watch out for the shallow reef on the inside section.

Also, do not leave your flip flops on the sand at Main point, stray dogs steal them.

Tourist beginners actually cause more chaos there than the locals do. Do not surf it unless you are advanced.

I will stick to Peanut Farm for a few days to warm up.

Peanut Farm is a great call. Much friendlier vibe.
