Hiriketiya gets incredibly crowded during peak season. The golden rule is absolute respect. The surfer closest to the breaking peak has the absolute right of way. Never drop in front of them.

If you are paddling back out to the lineup, never paddle directly through the surf zone where people are riding. Paddle wide into the deeper channel to avoid collisions. Smile, apologize if you make a mistake, and the locals will respect you.
