I want to mount a GoPro to my board to film the barrel at Rams Right in Midigama. Since the reef is extremely shallow, is a nose mount or mouth mount safer if I wipe out.

At Rams Right, you absolutely want a mouth mount. If you wipe out on that shallow reef, a board mount often snaps off when the board hits the coral. With a mouth mount, the camera stays with your head. Just make sure you have a bright floaty attached so you can find it if you spit it out during a heavy hold-down.

Rams is gnarly. Do not use a helmet mount either, it throws off your balance when duck diving the heavy sets.

Make sure you use Rain-X or lick the lens. The humidity in Sri Lanka makes the GoPro case fog up instantly if you do not prep it.
