I am applying for the one year digital nomad visa. Do I need to show my bank balance in a local bank or is my home bank statement enough.

The 2026 nomad visa framework requires proof of a minimum monthly income of two thousand dollars routed from sources outside Sri Lanka. Your home bank statements from the last six months are sufficient. You must also provide a valid remote work contract. You do not need a local bank account to apply, but once approved, you are eligible to open a personal foreign currency account here.

Make sure your health insurance specifically mentions coverage for Sri Lanka, as this is a mandatory requirement for the final visa endorsement.
